Automations from scratch

AI toolkit

A content calendar that fills itself from a sheet

Lesson 4 of 6 in Automations from scratch.

Checked against the makers' documentation on 9 October 2026.

Lesson

This one you build yourself, from parts the first two items taught. The calendar is a Google Sheet with one row per post, holding the date it goes out, the channel, a one-line idea, an empty draft column and a status. Every morning a Schedule Trigger reads the sheet, and a Filter keeps the rows marked planned whose draft is still empty. A Basic LLM Chain with Gemini writes a draft from each idea, and the draft goes back into its row with the status changed to drafted. Add ideas whenever you have them. By the next morning each one has a draft waiting to be edited and approved.

A year as a wheel, with the festivals falling where the farming and the light do.
