Reading a portfolio and a polaroid

Lesson 5 of 11 in Casting.

Lesson

A portfolio shows you somebody at their best, styled, lit and retouched by people who were good at it. Useful for knowing what they can do and misleading about what you will get on a Tuesday with your budget.

An ink drawing of a casting director's finger resting on plain instant photos of a woman and her hands, next to an open portfolio showing a glamorous portrait of her.
Plain polaroids beside a glossy portfolio show what will actually arrive.
