Hair and make-up direction

Lesson 8 of 11 in Styling.

Lesson

Skin and hair under a studio light do not look like skin and hair in a room, which is why make-up exists on shoots that are meant to look natural. Clean, undone make-up takes longer to achieve than an obvious look.

An ink drawing of a make-up artist adding a touch of blush to a freckled model at a bulb-lit mirror while the art director holds up a reference of natural skin.
Directing make-up so the model's skin still looks like skin.
