Killing a board you love

Lesson 8 of 10 in Moodboards and references.

Lesson

Every art director has a board they loved that was wrong for the job. The usual signs: it is the most beautiful thing in the deck, it is not derived from the brief, and defending it requires talking about feeling rather than fit.

An ink drawing of an art director sliding a golden-toned board into a plan chest drawer while a plainer grey and blue board stays pinned on the wall behind her.
Filing away a beloved board that was wrong for this brief.
