Packaging mockups and prototyping

Lesson 20 of 20 in Packaging.

Why Your Company Should Consider Investing In Packaging Prototypes · Packhelp
Lesson

Packaging is the one area of graphic design where a screen is nearly useless. A pack is a three-dimensional object held in a hand and seen from angles the artwork never shows, and decisions made flat are frequently wrong.

At a desk with scissors and glue, a designer turns a rough paper box and frowns at the round emblem bent across a fold, while her laptop behind shows the clean flat layout.
A designer glues a rough paper box from her flat artwork and finds the round emblem bent over a fold. An hour with scissors shows what the screen was hiding.
