Working with a team in Canva

Lesson 6 of 8 in Canva, properly.

Checked against the makers' documentation on 9 October 2026.

Lesson

Every design starts private. Its access level reads Only you can access. Share, at the top of the editor, adds people by name, email or group, or opens the design to anyone with the link, at one of three levels. Can edit lets someone change and save it, and on a link for anyone it lets people edit as guests without logging in. Can comment lets them leave feedback without changing anything, and guests have to log in to Canva to comment. Can view sounds safe, but Canva's own help says viewers can still export the design and make a copy of it.

Check what stuck

Members only

You can't take this check yet.

Members answer these 3 questions and keep the ticket for this lesson. Every lesson has one.

  1. Question 1, locked

You share a deck with Can view access. What can the person still do with it?

    • Edit the text on any page
    • Export it and make a copy of it
    • Reshare it to others with edit rights
    • Nothing beyond looking at it
  2. Question 2, locked

Before a deck goes to an investor, what does the lesson tell you to do with images you cropped?

    • Nothing, since a crop removes the hidden part
    • Lock each image so it cannot be uncropped
    • Delete what you cropped out rather than trusting the crop
    • Export as PDF Standard, which drops hidden parts
  3. Question 3, locked

A design has been approved, and then someone edits it. What happens?

    • It needs approving again
    • It stays approved
    • It is deleted automatically
    • It is moved to Trash
