Typographic hierarchy

Lesson 13 of 34 in Typography.

What Is Visual Hierarchy? · Envato Tuts+
Lesson

Visual hierarchy en.wikipedia.org is the arrangement of a page so that importance is legible before any of the words are. In type it is made from differences: size, weight, case, colour, position, the amount of empty space around something.

Below it a five-row table sets red category headings (the school, the workshops, the building, painting and sculpture, the stage) beside paragraphs of justified German text on yellow, with a second red column of listings down the right-hand side.
