Image and the single photograph

Lesson 7 of 10 in Poster design.

Lesson

A poster built on one photograph lives or dies on the crop. The same image cropped tight is intimate and cropped wide is observational, and that decision does more than any treatment applied afterwards.

An ink drawing of a bus shelter poster showing a small swimmer in a wide pool, with two grey bars sitting on the empty water and a commuter waiting beside it.
One photograph with calm empty space left for the words.
