Lesson 27 of 27 in Composition and layout.

Complete Layout Guide · Flux Academy
Lesson

A page is composed. A screen is specified. On paper a designer places every element in a known rectangle, and on screen they define rules from which a layout will be assembled at a size nobody chose.

A twelve-column grid with gutters, and a block spanning five columns.
A whole printed page beside a long strip of content scrolling upward behind a small phone-shaped window.
A printed page is seen whole at once, while a long web page slides past a small window one section at a time. Screen layout is planned as a sequence met in pieces.
