New Partner Models for Precise Generative Fill | Adobe Photoshop · Adobe Photoshop
Lesson

Generative Fill works on a selection. Draw one, choose Generative Fill in the Contextual Task Bar, type what you want or leave the box empty, and press Generate. Leave it empty and Photoshop fills the area from the pixels around it. The result arrives on a new generative layer above the photograph, with its variations in the Properties panel, so the original is never touched. It needs an internet connection. Adobe says prompts can be typed in more than 100 languages, so English is not required.

  1. Question 1, locked

Which Generative Fill model is a standard feature, at 1 credit a generation?

    • Firefly Image 5
    • Gemini 3 (with Nano Banana Pro)
    • FLUX.2 pro
    • Firefly Fill & Expand
  2. Question 2, locked

What does Adobe's help page on partner models say about using their output commercially?

    • It carries the same commercial assurance as Firefly output
    • Deciding whether a model suits your project is your responsibility
    • It may never be used on commercial work
    • It is free of credits for as long as the beta lasts
  3. Question 3, locked

Why should a large Generative Fill be checked at 100 per cent before you keep it?

    • Adobe's FAQ gives the Firefly output as 1024 by 1024 pixels, so big fills can be softer
    • Fills covering half the image are charged as premium
    • The Properties panel hides variations at lower zoom levels
    • Large fills switch to a partner model without asking
