Where a human hand still has to touch it

Lesson 10 of 10 in AI art direction.

Lesson

A person still has to touch the work in four places. The brief, where a person decides what is wanted and, more usefully, what would count as wrong. Then comes the selection itself. Then the finishing, where somebody fixes the small things the machine cannot see and would never think to report. Last, the approval, where a name goes on it and stays there long after the pipeline that made the file has been rewritten twice.

A long conveyor carries prints through small machines. At four points a human hand reaches in: sketching at the start, choosing a print, retouching one with a brush, and at the end pressing a wax seal onto the finished print.
Machines in between, hands at four points. The seal at the end carries a name.
