Lesson

Three settings sit on nearly every image tool and most people leave all three alone. Guidance decides how strictly the model follows your words. Steps decide how many passes it gets. The sampler decides the path it takes between them.

Three panels showing low, useful and high guidance, with contrast rising across them.
A hand turns a big knob on a darkroom enlarger. Above it, three prints of the same woman's face hang on a line: one faint and soft, one balanced and natural, and one scorched dark with harsh contrast and waxy, shiny skin.
Turn the pull too high and the face burns. Most of the plastic look comes from this one setting.
