Finishing, and why the last ten per cent is manual

Lesson 11 of 12 in AI image making.

Product Photography POST-PRODUCTION (retouch) TUTORIAL by Andrey Mikhaylov. Advertising Shot · PHOTIGY
Lesson

Almost no generated image is finished when it looks finished. There is a pass after the good frame arrives: the fault nobody mentioned, the label straightened, the shadow given weight, the grade matched to the rest of the set, the file built to a real specification.

Over a retoucher's shoulder, a large print of a vase on a plinth is taped to a sloping board. One hand holds a magnifying loupe while the other touches up the shadow with a fine brush. Small pencil circles mark four spots still to fix.
Four small circles and one fine brush. This is where a generated frame becomes a finished one.
