Prompting a language model for creative work

Lesson 11 of 13 in Prompting for creatives.

Lesson 7: Effective prompting techniques (Deep Dive) | AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations Course · Anthropic
Lesson

Of all the tools in this course, the language model is the one most often wasted. Asked for fifty brand names it will produce fifty, all serviceable, all interchangeable, and a founder will pick one and regret it. Asked to argue against a positioning it will find the weak joint in four minutes.

A person stands proudly beside a wooden chair they have built. Another person kneels and taps one of the chair's leg joints with a small hammer, revealing a thin crack opening there. Wood shavings lie on the floor.
Don't ask whether the chair is good. Ask someone to find the weak joint.
