Prompt injection and what it means for a studio

Lesson 13 of 13 in Prompting for creatives.

What Is a Prompt Injection Attack? · IBM Technology
Lesson

A model cannot reliably tell your instructions apart from instructions it finds inside the material you asked it to read. Put a web page in front of an agent and any text on that page is a candidate instruction, including text in white on white that no person would see.

An assistant holds a letter up to a lamp. The light reveals a faint hidden drawing inside the paper, of a hand reaching for a locked box. The assistant's one key is chained to the desk, and another person keeps a hand on the box.
Held to the light, the letter hides its own instructions. Keep the key on a short chain.
