Lesson 10 of 10 in AI video.

How to Create a Professional AI Film (Step-by-Step) · Curious Refuge
Lesson

The whole process, in order, as we actually run it. Write the idea in one sentence. Board it into twelve to fifteen shots. Generate a still for each and cut those into an animatic with temporary sound, which costs almost nothing and reveals every timing problem.

A thirty-second film in eight steps: idea, board, animatic and approved stills are the cheap half; motion, lock, finish and deliver are the expensive half.
A long wall of fifteen hand-drawn storyboard panels. At the end, a person with a stopwatch around their neck cuts the last three panels away with scissors, and they flutter to the floor.
Cut together as stills, the film runs long, so panels go before any motion is paid for.
