Prompting with a reference image

Lesson 6 of 13 in Prompting for creatives.

Style and Composition with IPAdapter and ComfyUI · Latent Vision
Lesson

Words are a low-bandwidth way to describe a picture. A picture is not. Handing the model a reference collapses an argument you would otherwise have in forty runs, which is why every serious pipeline is reference-led rather than text-led.

Depth, pose and edge maps feeding one generation, each fixing a different property.
A small photo set with a fixed camera, a softbox and a backdrop. On the table, a chalk outline marks a spot. One hand lifts a round bottle out while another hand sets a tall square bottle into exactly the same place.
Everything stays locked. Only the product swaps, into the exact spot the reference already approved.
