Type in generated images

Lesson 5 of 10 in AI and brand consistency.

Font licensing 101 for graphic designers · Jeremy Mura
Lesson

A brand's typeface is an owned, licensed asset and a model cannot reproduce it. What it produces is a lookalike, which is wrong in the details a designer notices immediately and wrong in a way a foundry's lawyer would also notice.

A print of a woman cycling along a country road, with empty sky above, lies on a light table. Four clear sheets fanned beside it each hold a different block of solid bars standing in for type. One sheet sits over the print, filling the sky.
The picture stays clean. The words live on their own layer, so they can change for every market.
