Rate limits, budgets and the bill that surprises you

Lesson 8 of 10 in AI production systems.

Lesson

In a dark, empty studio at night, a tank fills from a tap. A float on an arm rises with the water, ready to shut the tap at a set level. A small bell on the arm rings early because the water is rising too fast.
The float shuts the tap by itself. The bell rings if it fills too fast, even with nobody there.
