In code the three routes differ by one or two fields. Text to video needs only the prompt. Image to video adds an image to the same source object, and Veo uses it as the opening frame. First and last frame keeps that image and adds last_frame to the settings, which Google's docs describe as a constraint on the generation rather than an input. On 25 September 2026 the API refused it. The SDK and raw REST both got 'Your use case is currently not supported', moving lastFrame into the parameters got 'lastFrame isn't supported by this model' on Lite, Fast and Standard, and none of it was charged.
