Creative coding, and the tools worth learning

Lesson 7 of 10 in Generative design.

Creative Coding for Beginners - Full Course! · The Coding Train
Noise vs Random in p5.js · The Coding Train
Lesson

A designer does not need to become a programmer, and a small amount of code goes a very long way in this area. Two or three hundred lines will produce a system that makes ten thousand variations of something you designed.

A pen plotter moves across a large sheet, drawing flowing lines that ripple like wind through grass. Pinned beside it is a sheet of harsh random static. A person watches, holding a mug.
The flowing sheet is structured noise. The static beside it is pure randomness, and it looks dead.
