Directing a camera move

Lesson 3 of 10 in AI video.

4 Camera Moves Every Filmmaker Needs To Know · In Depth Cine
Lesson

Naming the move is the difference between a clip and a shot. Models respond well to the vocabulary of camera movement because the training material was described in it, so a slow push on a fixed subject will usually come back as a slow push.

A film camera travels on a dolly along straight rails. In front of it are reeds up close, a tree in the middle and a hill far away. Motion streaks behind the reeds are long, behind the tree shorter, and behind the hill almost nothing.
Near reeds race while the far hill barely moves. That difference is what sells a real camera move.
