When to shoot it for real

Lesson 10 of 10 in AI photography.

Putting the CGI In IKEA: How V-Ray Helps Visualize Perfect Homes · Chaos V-Ray
Lesson

There is a point where generating is more expensive than shooting, and most studios pass it without noticing. Four hours of rerolling at a high reject rate, plus finishing, plus the round where the client says the bottle looks wrong, costs more than a half day with a photographer who owns a table and two lights.

A photographer at a small tabletop set with two lamps shoots a real jar. Behind them, a painter on a tall ladder brushes a huge imaginary backdrop of cliffs, sea and sky.
The jar gets a camera. The cliffs get a brush. Each part goes to the method that suits it.
