Camera language, and why it works

Lesson 3 of 13 in Prompting for creatives.

Why Lens Choice Matters In Cinematography | Focal Lengths · In Depth Cine
Lesson

Image models were trained on captioned photographs, and a very large number of those captions came from photographers describing their own work. That means camera vocabulary is unusually well represented in what the model learned, and using it moves the picture more reliably than any amount of praise.

A woman sits at a café table. One photographer crouches right beside her with a short lens, while another stands far across the street with a long lens on a railing. Dotted lines connect both cameras to her.
Same woman, two distances. One puts you at her table, the other across the street.
