Image to video, and why it is the reliable route

Lesson 2 of 10 in AI video.

Gen-4 Image to Video | Runway Academy · Runway
Lesson

Text to video asks the model to solve composition, lighting, subject and motion at once, and it will get one of them wrong. Image to video splits the problem: settle the frame as a still, where iteration is cheap and control is good, then ask only for movement.

A thumb holds open a small flip book. The first page is a finished drawing of a closed box with a ribbon pinned to the corner. The pages behind it show the lid lifting a little more each time until the box is open.
The first page is approved before anything moves. The motion only adds the lifting lid.
